Meet sculptor Brad Oldham Oct 20th 6-8PM in TRAC’s Great Hall Sample tapas and sweets from local foodies and listen to some wonderful music by harpist Naoko Stromberg. Heather’s live red wigglers and Buzz’s honeybees will be here too!
TRAC added a new dimension to education programs with the addition of a “rain machine” presented and demonstrated by David Bamberger, founder of SELAH, the Bamberger Ranch Preserve in Johnson City, Texas. The rain machine demonstrates how native prairie grasses prevent rainwater runoff.
The rain machine and Bamberger’s visit were made possible by a generous gift from the Founders Garden Club of Dallas.
Beautiful Blue-winged Teal have been finding respite in the ponds at TRAC. Art Tedeschi shared this photo from yesterday. TRAC received nearly 3” of rain last Sunday night and it helped revive the ponds a little. Hope we’ll see some more rain today. A visitor earlier in the week saw a Magnolia Warbler. Grasshoppers and ladybugs are thriving despite the drought.
