Scissor-tails & Cocktails; May 9, 2013.  The party for outdoor education was a huge success. Thanks to all our fabulous supporters!

Earth Day Dallas 2013!  A fun weekend of outdoor exploration. We were honored to have Audubon’s President & CEO, David Yarnold, stop by the Audubon pavilion.  Visitors learned how to create a bird-friendly habitat in their own backyard, took photos in our giant nest, learned about urban birds, took a pledge to our Conservation Doesn’t Have a Party campaign and got to see our 3 Bobwhite quail.  Happy Earth Day Dallas!

Spring Break 2013! Great Trinity Forest hikes; learning all about owls,  bullfrog feeding and pigeon flight…FUN!

Great Backyard Bird Count 2013!  Over 30 unique species sighted at TRAC.  Thanks to Marilaine, Jean-Marc, Miriam and Cassi.

Will and Evan and their friend Ben stopped by from Big City Bike Rafts.  They floated the Trinity and then biked to our trailhead!

Forest Fest was a TREEt for all naturalists. From birds of prey to backyard poultry. A celebration of birds and our Great Trinity Forest!

TRAC celebrated its’ 4th anniversary with a grand Owl-o-Ween! Over 100 people came out on a Thursday night to see Blackland Praire Raptor Center’s owl ambassadors and Owl Prowl in the Great Trinity Forest.  You give a hoot!  Thank you!

Kids Club at the Dallas Zoo.  We set up our crafty elephant arts right next to the giraffes and they entertained us the whole morning.  Great chatting with so many families.  Thanks to all who attended and to our host and partner organizations for making such a fun day. 

During our last Third Thursday, we were able to finalize our bird count. Our guest speaker, Karen Waltz guided us through brand new information about the trinity river birds.
